The use of 3D printing technology to manufacture copper coils has very obvious advantages, extending the life of the coil, improving the efficiency of the coil, reducing production costs and so on.

Traditionally, coils are manufactured by hand, brazing or welding. They are a key component of sensing technology, and they allow devices to be started in a fast, safe and controlled manner while optimising energy efficiency.

After testing, the 3D-printed pure copper coil has a metal residual conductivity (RRR) of more than 250, while the ordinary copper coil metal residual conductivity is between 5 and 150. The higher the value of the residual conductivity of the metal, the denser the interior of the material and the smaller the internal void, which ensures good thermal and electrical conductivity.
